Our 5th Annual Leadership Night was a true celebration of our journey to becoming a Lighthouse School.
Families explored Berlin during an open house, supported our raffle, and—most importantly—learned from our student leaders. From designing dream houses (Begin with the End in Mind), to prioritizing what matters most (Put First Things First), to collaborating in a tower-building challenge (Synergize), the 7 Habits came to life in meaningful ways.
We’re so proud of our students for leading the way and making this night unforgettable. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make Berlin shine!

Last week, Superintendent Mr. Beun and Flat Ridge/Wise Principal Mr. Travis, who will begin a new role this fall as the Assistant Transportation Manager, treated our transportation department to a pancake breakfast as a token of appreciation for all of their work during this past winter. Our transportation staff is proactive in ensuring the safety of each of our students and are an essential partner for education in East Holmes. Thank you to each and every one of them, for all they do, every day!

This month, students at Mount Hope celebrated Valentine’s Day with fun Valentine boxes and joined their “Action Teams” in performing tasks around the school to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment. The teams include: School Grounds Team, Library Helpers, Recycling Team, Encouragement/Birthday Card Team, Recycling Team and the Bulletin Board Team.
The Chestnut Ridge lobby was also turned into a museum of sorts as the 7th-grade class chose and created an exhibit that answered the essential question of, "What contributed to Ancient Greek and Rome's successful culture?” The six exhibits included Pompeii, the Theatre of Dionysus, Aqueducts, Gladiators, the Parthenon, and the Colosseum.
