Wagon Ride

I have had many good school memories in my life.   Some of the best memories I can remember are when my classmates and I went on field trips.  As a long-time educator, I want to provide as many memories for my students as possible.

Finding opportunities for students to get out of the classroom and into different places or natural environments can be difficult due to time constraints. Because of this, we like to find local destinations like The Farm at Walnut Creek, The Wilderness Center, Roscoe Village, Ramseyer Farms, and the Train Depot in Orville.

Students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade recently visited The Farm at Walnut Creek.  Even though the weather was cool, the students, staff, and chaperones had an amazing time.  Most students had never fed a giraffe or large bull stroked the head of a huge buffalo or danced with a bird as they toured the grounds.  A short 5-mile drive allowed students and staff to build relationships and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Holmes County is blessed with so many kind and generous people.  The staff and students at Berlin Elementary would like to thank The Farm at Walnut Creek for being such gracious hosts to us on our recent visits.
