Diane

After many years of faithful service to the East Holmes School District and the Berlin Elementary community, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved secretary, Diane Duarte, as she prepares to retire at the end of this school year.

Diane has been the steady heartbeat of Berlin Elementary — the warm smile that greeted every student, the calm voice that reassured anxious parents, and the organized mind that kept the school running smoothly day after day. Whether handing out ice packs, juggling phone calls, helping a nervous kindergartener, or managing a mountain of paperwork with grace, Diane did it all with a kindness and steadiness that can’t be taught.

Her devotion to our students, families, and staff has left a lasting imprint. She has been more than a secretary — she’s been a counselor, cheerleader, nurse, scheduler, and friend. Diane never seemed rattled, no matter what the day brought. She approached every challenge with patience and care, and made Berlin Elementary feel like home for everyone who walked through the door.

As Diane steps into retirement, we celebrate her extraordinary career and thank her for the love, laughter, and leadership she has shared with us over the years. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to shape the heart of our school.
