Welcome to Winesburg Elementary School.  Winesburg’s history goes back to the days of Winesburg being a High School.  Winesburg School was nicknamed the Bobcats.  They remained the Bobcats until consolidating into Hiland High School in 1958.  The Bobcats basketball team would frequently put up NBA style scores.  One hundred points wasn’t unusual…even decades before the 3 point shot. 

Moving to 2023, we currently have 179 students that attend Winesburg from grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.  Twenty-eight talented staff help create an environment that can best be summarized in one word…”family.”   Winesburg embraces the Three Pillars as their foundation to success.

• Do Your Best: Bringing it every day is a winning habit we instill in our students.   

• Do What’s Right:  Not only doing it to the best of your ability, but doing it the “right way.”  Integrity is a term that is often used in our buildings.  No shortcuts!  Take the road less traveled and do it the right way.

• Put Others First:  This pillar is just as important as the first two pillars.  Motivation has to be others centered.  What a joy it is to watch our students model this attitude.
