Principal's Welcome

My name is J.T. Luneborg and I am the principal at Chestnut Ridge Elementary School . It is an exciting time for us at Chestnut Ridge as we have obtained the state's highest grade of excellent for the past three years and this year we obtained excellent with distinction. Chestnut Ridge is a great place to learn and with our caring teachers and staff it continues to be a team effort in guiding our students to be successful in and out of the classroom.

Chestnut Ridge serves approximately 250 students in grades K-8. Our goal at Chestnut Ridge is to provide students with a safe, inviting, and positive learning environment in which our students can be successful. We want all the students to gain the basic social and academic skills at Chestnut Ridge to become lifelong learners. With the help of staff, parents, and community, students at Chestnut Ridge are given the resources to achieve their highest level.

Chestnut Ridge Mission Statement:

Staff members believe that all students can learn and reach their potential. In a positive learning environment, we seek to encourage student achievement, progress in basic social and academic skills, and improve the ability to think independently and logically.

Staff Members will plan an instructional program that respects the cultural values of our school community.

Periodic assessment will be made of pupil performance and intervention will be provided to meet individual needs.

Our success rests upon the cooperation and communication of the staff, students, parents, and community in the educational program of each individual student.
